Graduation 2021: A Class of their Own
This year’s Graduation was extra special for many reasons
A recap of the Graduation Ceremonies in Geneva and Barcelona for 2020 – 2021
After a challenging 18 months for all international students worldwide, this year it was extra special to see our graduating cohorts from the past two years be able to celebrate their achievements in person with their classmates.
In Geneva, we celebrated in style with an intimate and heartfelt ceremony in the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel. Our guest speaker Dr Jürg Wittwer reminded us of the winning combination of hard work, merit, and opportunity in his rousing address to the class of 2020/2021. The official proceedings were followed by a cruise on Lac Lemán with a roaming live band and some wonderful views of France from the Belle epoque classical steamboat, the Simplon.

The ceremonies acknowledged students who had graduated from the Geneva, Barcelona and Madrid campuses over the past two years and awards were also presented to students in categories based on Outstanding Thesis, Theses with Distinction and Student Contribution to the Community.
In keeping with the nautical theme, in Barcelona, the students took over the Barcelona Maritime Museum where they were graced with the presence of Beat Kaser, Swiss Consul General for Barcelona and the Barcelona Football Club’s very own president, Joan Laporta. All students from Madrid and Barcelona who graduated in 2020 and 2021 were invited to attend and we were delighted to see so many students were able to join us in person after such a long time. Both ceremonies were streamed live for those who were unable to. make it on the day.
