Gregory Shields LLB, LPC, MSc Professor Shields is a sports business consultant, an English qualified lawyer and a former executive in a national sport governing body with over 20 years of management experience. Professor Shields qualified as a solicitor in England before going on to become chief executive officer of a National English law firm. Professor Shields has held the position of Director of Football Operations for the Irish football Association, the National sports governing body for football in Northern Ireland. During his tenure as an executive in the Irish FA Professor Shields led the operational and marketing delivery for the associations senior men’s football team at the UEFA European Championships 2016 in France. He also oversaw the hosting of the Women’s Under 19 UEFA European Championships in Northern Ireland. In addition, Professor Shields was also responsible for national security and integrity, all international team’s administration, event management at the National Football stadium in Belfast Northern Ireland, national discipline, and the administration of all national cup competitions. Professor Shields has extensive international consulting and speaking experience having worked with various sporting entities in sectors including not-for-profit, legal and fin tech SaaS. Professor Shields is an Honorary Recognised Teacher at the University of Liverpool where he lectures on the Sports Business & Management program.
