Our Programs

What programs do you offer?

We offer Bachelor’s, Master’s, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degrees with various specializations ranging from Digital Marketing to Sports Management to Entrepreneurship.

Can I select my own courses?

Yes you can. In each year you will choose Electives (Bachelor’s) or Sector Courses (Master’s). More information can be found here:

When can I start my specialization courses?

From the first year, you will start to study your chosen specialization. This means that you can delve into your area of interest from the moment you start your program.

How long is a Bachelor’s degree?

A Bachelor’s degree takes 3 years of full-time study.

How long is a Master’s degree?

A Master’s degree takes 1.5 years of full-time study.

How long is an MBA?

An MBA degree takes 1.5 years of full-time study.

How long is a semester?

A semester is 16 weeks long.

How long is a term?

A term is 12 weeks long.

What is the difference between a Master’s and MBA?

A Master’s program allows students to extend their experience and academic background and add to their employment opportunities. It also enables a Bachelor student at Geneva Business School the opportunity to deepen their chosen specialization and gain expert knowledge in their field of study. An MBA is geared toward the ambitious employee who wants to advance their career as a leader. This is a course for students aiming for a top-level management position or to manage their own company.

What is a DBA degree?

A Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) combines some theory with research to solve a current business problem. A DBA will help you solve a current business issue and make a tangible contribution to the field in which you work. Aimed at individuals who are looking for an opportunity to deep dive into a problem or idea that requires research, analysis, and guidance from industry experts to develop recommendations and solutions.

What is the difference between a PhD and a DBA?

A PhD is focussed on academic research to contribute to the body of academic literature on a topic, whereas the Doctorate of Business Administration focusses on applied research to solve a business problem or develop an idea.

How do the ECTS credits work, exactly?

The ECTS is a standardized system created in order to ease the comparison of the study attainment and performance of students of higher education across the EU and other collaborating countries. It is mainly used to facilitate transfer and progression through the union. Read more here.

Are there any online courses available?

Yes – We currently have online programs. Our  Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) is fully online.

What is project-based learning?

Projects undertaken in groups emulate the types of business environments that you find in the modern workplace. Learning how to complete a task in a group develops your knowledge and understanding of a topic but also creates coping skills, communication skills, and an understanding of cross-cultural communication which is valuable in a global business environment.

Can I transfer between campuses?

Yes – We examine transfer requests on a case-by-case basis. However, non-EU students may have to reapply for a visa in order to ensure attendance on selected campuses. If you are studying for a Bachelor’s, you can transfer between Geneva, Barcelona, and Madrid. If you are studying for a Master’s you can transfer between Geneva and Barcelona.

Do I need to speak English to study at Geneva Business School?

All our programs are taught and studied 100% in English. We require a minimum of a CEFR B2 level of English but the requirements vary according to the program you apply to.

Do you offer English programs/ learning English?

Yes. In a Bachelor’s program, you can choose English as an elective. We teach Spanish A1, A2, B1 classes as an elective. We also have an English B2 class for students who need to improve their writing skills. On our Geneva campus, you can take French classes in levels A1, A2 & B1.

How do the intakes work?

There are two intakes per year, one in February and another in September.

Do you offer mentoring?

Our instructors are all professionally active and working in the industry in which they teach. This means that they have a wealth of experience and knowledge to impart to our students and can provide guidance and support for new ventures and achieving their career goals. In addition to this, we offer personalized mentorship in our Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) programs.

What documents do you require for an application?

Please note that we do not require GRE or GMAT test. Any questions you may have can be answered by our Admissions Team. Please fill out the following form and an Admissions Manager will get back to you as soon as possible.

When is the deadline for September intake?

We would recommend that you start your application as soon as possible.

Applicants that require a visa need to submit their visa applications as soon as possible, at least 12 weeks before the start of the term.

Applicants that do not require a visa can submit their applications up to 3 weeks before the start of the term.

When is the deadline for Spring intake?

We would recommend that you start your application as soon as possible.

What evidence do you require for the English CEFR level?

We accept official exam results from TOEFL, IELTS, and DET as evidence of your English level.

The minimum requirements for our programs are as follows:

For Bachelor’s: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 80 / DET 95-100 (official English exam results)

For Master’s / MBA: IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 74 / DET 105-110 (official English exam results)

For DBA: IELTS 7.0 / TOEFL 85 / DET 115-120 (official English exam results)

How can I prove my English level if I haven’t taken any exams?

If an official English exam certificate is not available we will consider proof of any previous study in an English-speaking environment for a minimum of 3 years or by conducting an official interview with our admissions department.

Do I have to speak Spanish or French?

No, speaking Spanish or French is not necessary to study at Geneva Business School, as all our courses are taught in 100% in English.

What is a business case study?

A business case study summarizes a real-life business issue faced by a company and looks at how it may affect society within a business context. When you apply to Geneva Business School you will be asked to write a 500-word response to a business case study. Read these tips on how to respond to a business case study.

Can I work with Geneva Business School to reduce my tuition fees?

Geneva Business School has a limited number of opportunities each year. For more information get in touch with our Student Services Team.

Can I transfer credits from other universities?

Yes, you can transfer credits if you want them to be taken into consideration as part of your application. Be sure to supply the academic transcripts when you apply.

Can I do a master’s without having done a bachelor’s?

All Master’s programs require a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and some previous business or professional experience.

How many IB points do I need to be accepted into Geneva Business School?

We require 30 IB points to apply to Geneva Business School.

How long will it take to get a decision on my application?

You can expect a response in approximately 6 to 10 days.

How much is the application fee?

The fee to apply to Geneva Business School is 150€

What is the administration fee for?

Our Administration fee covers all onboarding processes and Student Services activities that are conducted throughout the course of your program. From the day you apply to the day you graduate, this fee covers any additional costs incurred so you don’t have to think about it for the rest of your program. This includes your graduation ceremony and entry to exclusive events and conferences throughout your time at Geneva Business School.

Do you have flexible payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible payment plans on a case-by-case basis. Monthly installments can be arranged please contact our Admissions team for further information. See our Financial Support  page for more information.

Do you offer any scholarships?

Indeed, we offer two competitive scholarships: academic and community. Both are aimed at students with outstanding academics and financial need. Please note that only candidates who already received Conditional Acceptance can request scholarships. See our Financial Support  page for more information.

Do you offer a discount if I continue my studies with Geneva Business School?

Students who complete a Bachelor at Geneva Business School will be entitled to a 10% discount on the first year of their Master’s program. You are also entitled to automatic admission, late enrolment, no administration fee, and transfer between campuses where possible.

Students who wish to continue on to study an MBA, or Doctorate of Business Administration after previously studying a Bachelor or Master program with Geneva Business School are entitled to the same discount with the sufficient amount of business experience required as outlined in the Entry Requirements for that program.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes, we do. If you refer a friend to study at Geneva Business School and they are successful in their application to one of our programs you will receive 10% discount for the following semester tuition fees. This amount is accumulative, so if you refer 10 friends, you could receive a 100% discount for a semester’s fees! See our Financial Support  page for more information.

Student Experience

  Yes, when you arrive on campus, check with your Student Services department for any available options. Internships are compulsory, depending on the program.

Do you help students get their visa to study abroad?

We provide all relevant documentation to present your visa application to the embassy but each student must contact the embassy to attain the specific visa requirements, request an appointment, and so on.

How soon before my program starts should I arrive?

We recommend a couple of weeks before the program starts where possible. It will depend on your country of residence but as long as your visa is approved you can enter the country where you will be studying from the first day of your visa. 

How do I get a student visa for Spain?

How do I get a student visa for Switzerland?

Can I work when I study on a student visa?

Every international student can work a maximum of 20 hours per week. The Student Services department shares different internship opportunities on a weekly basis.

Do I have to leave the country once my studies are completed?

Your visa will state the amount of time you can stay or the date by which you must leave the country. These dates are set by the immigration authorities of that country and must be followed accordingly.

Do you help students find internships or work?

Yes, our Student Services department has a network of companies where our student community can apply for internships.
